Who What Why?
I am an improviser.
I am interested in people.
I like jokes and audiences.
I like to teach improvisation as a life skill, because it helps everything.
I write songs. Probably a dozen a year, minimum.
You might have heard me on Radio 4, if you listen to it.
I wrote a book called Improv Your Life: An Improviser's Guide To Working With Whatever Life Throws At You.
It is about the power of improvisation as a tool for the day to day.
Available in paperback, Kindle and audio formats.
You can read an article about it here.
I am a core member of the Olivier Award winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical.
I worked as the Dramaturg on 9 to 5: The Musical and wrote a mini-musical for Jack Whitehall's Christmas Special with Duncan Walsh Atkins, who often pops up in my work (because he's so bloomin' talented).
I wrote Now That's What I Call A Musical! touring the UK from September 2024.
I am the ultimate modern hyphen job human, meaning I also work on non-performance projects like Perspectiva - a space for us to think about how we think about the world and it's gathering The Realisation Festival.
I am the co-founder of Sunday Assembly - a network of secular Congregations around the world. You can read more about that here.
I am no longer directly involved with Sunday Assembly, but the project carries on and I watch its continuing journey with pride.
IS THERE ANYTHING SHE DOESN'T DO?
Yes. Extreme Sports, HGV driving, fishing, hunting for her dinner, tequilla slammers (not anymore, anyway) and housework.
