In order to get out of a flashback, it is important to have a plan. One way to get out of a flashback is to tell yourself, "I'm going to go outside and breathe deeply." This allows you to control your breathing and focus on the present moment. Another way to get out of a flashback is by doing something else like taking a walk or calling a friend.
